Lead, Chief Systems Engineer serves as a Radar Chief Systems Engineer to support radar-related programs and high-priority assets within a defense environment. This role involves managing the technical baseline, conducting trade studies, performing requirements analysis, and leading multidisciplinary engineering teams across electrical, mechanical, software, and test domains. The individual will develop CONOPS, manage system integration, perform cost and risk analyses, and lead root-cause investigations while contributing to hardware and software development labs. Key responsibilities include creating SysML models or DoDAF views and supporting technical proposals. Required expertise includes radar software, signal processing, or RF hardware. Preferred skills include experience with phased array radars, digital beamforming, Redhat OpenShift, and the Agile framework. The role requires a Secret security clearance and proficiency in tools like MagicDraw to solve complex problems for mission-critical systems.
Execute systems engineering processes using both traditional waterfall and agile/scrum methodologies across the program.
Maintain the accuracy, integrity, and quality of the program's technical baseline.
Review system requirements, preliminary designs, peer reviews, detailed designs, and test plans.
Lead development of CONOPS, conduct trade studies, and perform requirements analysis for radar systems.
Translate customer requirements into complete system solutions while balancing technical, schedule, and cost constraints.
Perform cost, risk, supportability, and effectiveness analyses across the full system lifecycle.
Create SysML models and DoDAF views using MagicDraw tools.
Lead multidisciplinary engineering teams to resolve root-cause investigations and implement corrective actions.
What we're looking for
A Bachelor's degree and 9 years of experience, a Graduate degree and 7 years of experience, or 13 years of experience without a degree.
Must have technical leadership experience for teams larger than 50 people.
Experience in radar software, signal processing, and/or RF hardware.
Secret security clearance required.
Experience with phased array radars, high power amplifiers, digital beamforming, SDA mission prosecution, LPAR, HWIL simulation, surveillance, or signal processing (preferred).
Experience with CAMEO Systems modeler or MagicDraw (preferred).
Knowledge of Kubernetes environments and Redhat OpenShift Containerized Platform (preferred).
