The Kubernetes Platform Infrastructure Architect joins the Modern Workloads Platform Engineering team to drive the adoption of VMware Kubernetes Service within VMware Cloud Foundation. In this customer-facing role, you will act as a trusted advisor for enterprise customers and Systems Integrators, designing software-defined data centers and integrating physical-to-virtual network fabrics. Your daily responsibilities include leading architecture workshops, conducting complex Proof-of-Concepts, and building reusable reference architectures and deployment patterns. You will utilize deep expertise in VMware Cloud Foundation, vSphere, vSAN, and SDDC Manager alongside Kubernetes platform engineering experience with EKS, AKS, and Red Hat OpenShift. You must manage cloud-native networking constructs, including IPAM, ingress/egress traffic, and CNI multi-tenancy, to solve complex virtualization scaling and workload placement problems in private cloud environments.
Create and standardize reusable reference architectures, deployment patterns, and technical assets for customers.
Troubleshoot complex infrastructure, networking, and containerization issues across the entire technology stack.
Design software-defined data centers (SDDC) and integrate physical-to-virtual network fabrics.
What we're looking for
12+ years in technology-related engineering or consulting roles with depth in enterprise IT architecture, data center SDN, or private cloud infrastructure.
Proven architecture expertise on VMware Cloud Foundation core products, including vSphere deployment, vSAN storage, and automated SDDC Manager operations.
Experience with Kubernetes Platform Engineering including EKS, AKS, RH OCP/OPP, or Rancher.
Comprehensive knowledge of enterprise IT infrastructure including server, network, and storage architectures.
Deep design and implementation experience with enterprise networking fabrics such as VMware NSX.
