As a Java Lead Software Engineer within Asset & Wealth Management, you will join an agile team to build secure, market-leading technology. You will execute creative software solutions, design, develop, and troubleshoot production code while reviewing and debugging work written by others. A primary responsibility involves driving team adoption of enterprise-authorized AI-assisted engineering practices to improve code quality, delivery speed, and operational outcomes. You will lead evaluation sessions with external vendors and internal teams to probe architectural designs and technical credentials. Required skills include advanced proficiency in Java/Spring, microservices, JavaScript/TypeScript, SQL, or Kafka, alongside cloud platforms like AWS. You must demonstrate experience with responsible AI use, CI/CD, and application resiliency within the financial services industry to solve complex technical problems and improve overall operational stability.
Develop secure, high-quality production code and perform code reviews and debugging for other team members.
Drive team adoption of enterprise-authorized AI-assisted engineering practices to improve code quality and delivery speed.
Establish consistent validation standards for secure coding, peer reviews, and automated testing across the team.
Identify and automate the remediation of recurring issues to improve the operational stability of software systems.
Lead evaluation sessions with external vendors and internal teams to probe architectural designs and technical credentials.
Coach engineers on the safe and compliant use of AI tools while ensuring data sensitivity and security.
Apply knowledge of SDLC toolchains and automation capabilities to improve the overall value of development processes.
What we're looking for
Formal training or certification on software engineering concepts and 5+ years of applied experience (NAMR/APAC/Hong Kong).
Formal training or certification on software engineering concepts and advanced applied experience (EMEA/LATAM-Brazil).
Hands-on practical experience delivering system design, application development, testing, and operational stability.
Advanced proficiency in one or more of the following: Java/Spring, microservices, JavaScript/TypeScript, SQL, or Kafka.
Hands-on experience with cloud platforms, specifically internal platforms or AWS.
Demonstrated experience leading the use of approved AI-assisted software development tools for coding, review, and troubleshooting.
Strong understanding of responsible AI use, including data sensitivity, secure handling of inputs/outputs, and coaching engineers on compliant adoption.
Advanced understanding of agile methodologies, CI/CD, application resiliency, and security.
