Research & Development Intern

What you'll do

• Support the development of new technologies and existing products, businesses, and operations.
• Lead and direct assigned projects toward advanced technical solutions.
• Document detailed experimental records in electronic laboratory notebooks for potential patent applications.
• Analyze, interpret, and communicate results from experiments to relevant stakeholders.
• Develop digital science tools, including algorithms and machine learning models, to solve research challenges.
• Perform material characterization, formulation science, or chemical processing as required by the specific project.

What we're looking for

• Must be currently pursuing a bachelor’s or master’s degree in science or engineering from an accredited institution.
• Candidates must have completed at least two semesters of university coursework by the start of the internship.
• Must be a U.S. person as defined by export control laws to access certain technologies and systems.
• 6-12 months of practical laboratory experience in areas such as polymer synthesis, chemical processing, or materials characterization is preferred.
• Proficiency in one or more programming languages like Python, MATLAB, C, C++, or R is required.
• Experience with machine learning, deep learning, data science, and cloud platforms like Microsoft Azure ML or AWS ML is preferred.
• Strong communication, problem-solving, and leadership skills are required to collaborate on research and development projects.
