As an Infrastructure Engineer III within the Payments Technology Strategic Initiative Office group, you will manage the FinOps book of work with an AWS first mandate. You will utilize Terraform for infrastructure-as-code, various scripting languages, and enterprise-authorized AI capabilities to accelerate capacity analysis and documentation. The role requires deep knowledge of networking, databases, storage engineering, and deployment practices to improve data and systems running at scale while ensuring resiliency and security.

What you'll do

Manage the Payments SIO FinOps book of work with a primary focus on AWS optimization.
Own and maintain the FinOps optimization backlog, including intake, triage, prioritization, and execution tracking.
Apply technical knowledge to improve data and systems running at scale while ensuring end-to-end monitoring.
Use enterprise-authorized AI to accelerate monitoring, capacity analysis, and documentation while ensuring data security.
Drive daily activities for standard capacity process applications and identify potential capacity risks.
Make significant technical decisions for projects involving multiple technologies and applications.
Implement reuse-first, AI-assisted approaches to identify recurring capacity risks and improve remediation workflows.

What we're looking for

Formal training or certification on infrastructure engineering concepts and 3+ years of applied experience.
Strong infrastructure-as-code (IaC) experience using Terraform.
Strong knowledge of one or more infrastructure disciplines including hardware, networking, databases, storage, and automation.
Demonstrated experience using enterprise-authorized AI capabilities to support infrastructure engineering workflows with strong validation habits.
Ability to review and validate AI-assisted recommendations to ensure outcomes align with resiliency, security, and auditability expectations.
Strong knowledge of one or more scripting languages.
Experience with multiple cloud technologies, including the ability to operate in and migrate across public and private clouds.
Hands-on experience delivering AWS FinOps optimization outcomes in a large-scale enterprise environment (preferred).
Proficiency in firmwide infrastructure usage/spend/utilization tooling such as iHub, CloudVision, and ClaroUtil (preferred).
Experience optimizing Snowflake and Databricks consumption and cost (preferred).
