The ILMS Solution Architect, Lead serves as a technical leader responsible for translating customer IT needs into actionable plans through the creation of architecture products, design specifications, and requirements. This role involves mentoring developers, identifying growth opportunities, and leading efforts to modernize legacy modules, manage cloud migrations, and integrate advanced technologies. The position requires expertise in State Department ILMS modules such as Asset Management, Procurement, Supply Chain, Inventory, Diplomatic Pouch and Mail, or Fleet. Candidates must possess skills in data governance, identity management, security controls, and technical roadmapping. Relevant tools and frameworks include Oracle, SAP, Ariba, .NET, SQL Server, AWS GovCloud, FISMA, NIST 800-53, and Zero Trust principles. The role addresses critical challenges in federal logistics and supply chain modernization within the domain of global logistics and foreign affairs mission operations.
Translate customer IT needs and future goals into technical roadmaps and design artifacts.
Create architecture products, design specifications, and requirements for logistics systems.
Lead the modernization of legacy ILMS modules and cloud migration initiatives.
Integrate advanced technologies into existing federal logistics and supply chain workflows.
Develop technical architectures supporting data governance, identity management, and security controls.
Mentor junior developers to help them grow into future solutions architects.
Identify opportunities for growth within the digital solutions business as a technical leader.
What we're looking for
7+ years of experience as a solution architect, technical lead, or systems engineer.
3+ years of experience supporting State Department ILMS.
Experience with State Department ILMS modules such as Asset Management, Procurement, Supply Chain, Inventory, Diplomatic Pouch and Mail, or Fleet.
Experience developing technical architectures for logistics workflows, data governance, identity management, and security controls for State Department systems.
Experience translating State Department mission and bureau requirements into technical roadmaps, design artifacts, and implementation plans.
Knowledge of ILMS workflow processes including asset management, logistics routing, shipping, warehouse operations, and procurement lifecycle steps.
Bachelor's degree in a STEM field.
Experience with ILMS modernization, cloud redesign, or data migration activities (preferred).
Experience with federal IT stack platforms such as Oracle, SAP, Ariba, .NET, SQL Server, or AWS GovCloud (preferred).
Knowledge of federal cybersecurity frameworks including FISMA, NIST 800-53, or Zero Trust principles (preferred).
