JOB TITLE: Identity Access Management (IAM) Architect The Identity Access Management (IAM) Architect will lead the technical design and implementation of large-scale, global identity access management services for the U.S. Department of State's Bureau of Diplomatic Technologies. This role involves overseeing 24x7 worldwide technical operations, modernization activities, and Zero Trust Architecture adoption. You will define enterprise architecture, strategy, and roadmaps for IAM capabilities, including managing non-human identities to support AI implementation. Daily responsibilities include designing automated solutions for service accounts, secrets, and certificates while establishing governance frameworks and lifecycle controls. Required technical skills include Active Directory, Microsoft Entra, DNS, TCP/IP, PKI, ADFS, and experience with Okta, Ping, CyberArk, and cloud platforms like AWS, Azure, and GCP. You must also integrate workflows with ServiceNow and understand NIST frameworks and government compliance standards.

What you'll do

  • Define and evolve the enterprise architecture, strategy, and roadmap for global IAM capabilities.
  • Design secure, scalable, and automated solutions for managing service accounts, machine identities, and secrets.
  • Establish governance frameworks and operational standards for the secure lifecycle of all identities.
  • Lead the technical design and implementation of large-scale identity access management services.
  • Develop architecture artifacts, implementation guidance, and metrics to promote operational excellence.
  • Manage non-human identities to securely support AI implementation and modernization activities.
  • Oversee 24x7 worldwide technical operations and Zero Trust Architecture (ZTA) adoption and compliance.

What we're looking for

  • Must be a US Citizen.
  • Must possess an active Top Secret/SCI clearance.
  • Must have a Bachelor's Degree in a related technical discipline.
  • Must have a minimum of 10 years of technical experience.
  • Must have experience working within a government enterprise environment.
  • Must have experience with Zero Trust Architecture, NIST frameworks, and Microsoft Entra/Active Directory.
  • Must have experience with identity solutions like Okta, Ping, or CyberArk and cloud platforms like Azure, AWS, or GCP.
  • Active TS/SCI clearance.
