As a HW Dev Engineer-Payload, Leo PAA Hardware, you will join the payload team responsible for the architecture, design, implementation, validation, and manufacturing of satellite payloads. You will own PCBA development from concept through production, designing and optimizing electronics sub-systems and high-speed digital circuitry including SERDES, Ethernet, and PCIe. Your daily responsibilities include leading schematic capture, PCB layout, and vendor engagement for DFM review while optimizing PCB stack-up for performance and cost. You will also develop test plans, perform board bring-up, and design automated test systems and fixtures. The role requires expertise in mixed signal PCBA design and proficiency with tools like Siemens Xpedition, Cadence OrCad, or Altium Designer. This position focuses on developing phased array antenna systems to provide high-bandwidth connectivity through advanced satellite payload technology.

What you'll do

Own PCBA development from initial concept through final production.
Design and optimize various electronic sub-system blocks for phased array systems.
Design high-speed digital circuitry including SERDES, Ethernet, and PCIe.
Lead schematic capture, PCB layout, and stack-up optimization for performance and cost.
Manage PCB vendor engagement for DFM reviews and manufacturing transitions.
Develop test plans, procedures, and automated test systems for board bring-up.
Execute test campaigns for various modules and subsystems to ensure reliability requirements.

What we're looking for

Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering or equivalent.
4+ years of industry experience in mixed signal PCBA design.
3+ years of experience using schematic tools such as Siemens Xpedition, Cadence OrCad, or Altium Designer.
1+ years of experience in high-speed digital design including SERDES, Ethernet, and PCIe.
Master's degree in electrical engineering or equivalent (preferred).
1+ years of experience with signal and/or power integrity (preferred).
Must be a U.S. citizen, national, permanent resident, or lawfully admitted as a refugee or granted asylum for export control compliance.
