Head of Personal Loans Core Platforms and Lending Integrations - Director leads a critical engineering function within the USCC division to deliver next-generation API integration platforms across value proposition, lending, and commerce ecosystems. This highly technical leadership role involves overseeing the development of scalable, secure, and compliant integration workflows including authentication, transaction orchestration, and third-party integrations. The individual will drive architecture for microservices, event-driven designs, and RESTful APIs while managing multiple teams to ensure operational stability in a regulated environment. Key technologies include cloud platforms like AWS, Azure, or GCP; containerization via Docker and Kubernetes; CI/CD pipelines; and security protocols such as OAuth and JWT. The role solves complex technical challenges in the lending and commerce space by building robust infrastructure that supports seamless integration with internal systems, partner APIs, and core banking data platforms.
Deliver next-generation API integration platforms across value proposition, lending, and commerce ecosystems.
Drive architecture, low-level design, and engineering standards for scalable, secure, and compliant systems.
Write production-grade code to unblock teams, prototype solutions, and validate technical approaches.
Oversee the development of authentication, transaction orchestration, and third-party integration workflows.
Ensure all platform integrations comply with strict regulatory requirements, risk frameworks, and data privacy standards.
Manage multiple engineering teams including hiring, performance management, and budget allocation.
Mentor senior engineers and provide technical guidance to resolve complex architectural problems.
Influence cross-functional stakeholders in product and risk departments to align on strategic objectives.
What we're looking for
Must have 15+ years of experience in a senior Engineering or Technology leadership role.
Must have significant experience building complex business models in API integration, lending systems, or commerce platforms.
Must have a proven track record of designing and implementing enterprise-grade API architectures including RESTful APIs, GraphQL, event-driven architectures, and microservices.
Must possess deep expertise in integration patterns such as synchronous/asynchronous communication, message queuing, API gateways, and service mesh technologies.
Must have experience with modern technology stacks including cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP), containerization, CI/CD pipelines, and infrastructure as code.
Must have a strong understanding of security best practices for API development, including OAuth, JWT, encryption, and threat modeling.
Knowledge of financial services domain, particularly in lending, payments, and commerce platforms is required.
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related technical field is required; Master's degree preferred.
