Head of Engineering, Data Distribution

What you'll do

• Lead and scale a multi-disciplinary engineering organization of over 50 data, ML, and platform engineers.
• Drive the strategic architecture for enterprise data management and governance using Databricks Unity Catalog and AWS services.
• Oversee the development of production-grade autonomous AI systems using Databricks Mosaic AI and RAG architectures.
• Guide technical strategy for zero-copy, multi-platform lakehouse architectures using Delta Lake and Apache Iceberg.
• Translate business and compliance requirements into actionable engineering roadmaps in partnership with executive leadership.
• Manage large-scale data infrastructure projects involving automated lineage, security, and accuracy at petabyte scale.
• Lead organizational transformation initiatives to position the company at the forefront of enterprise AI capabilities.

What we're looking for

• Must have 15+ years of engineering experience.
• Must have 5+ years of experience managing and scaling large engineering teams at Director or Head of Engineering level.
• Must possess deep technical expertise in data platform architecture including Delta Lake and Apache Iceberg internals.
• Must have proven experience leading enterprise data management, governance, and security implementations at petabyte scale.
• Must have hands-on experience with cloud platforms such as AWS (S3, Glue, Lake Formation) and Databricks.
• Must demonstrate strong leadership skills to drive organizational transformation and partner with executive leadership.
• Preferred: Experience with AI/ML platforms like Databricks Mosaic AI, Amazon SageMaker, or Amazon Bedrock.
• Preferred: AWS certifications such as Solutions Architect or Data Analytics.
