What you'll do

  • Lead the vision, strategy, and financial performance of the national Energy portfolio.
  • Serve as the senior underwriting authority for energy segments including traditional and renewable sectors.
  • Drive profitable growth through strategic pricing, risk selection, and market expansion initiatives.
  • Act as the primary external face to brokers, customers, and industry stakeholders.
  • Partner with internal departments like Actuarial and Risk Engineering to enhance product design and coverage.
  • Improve operational efficiency by leveraging automation, analytics, and technology investments.
  • Recruit, mentor, and develop a high-performing team of underwriting professionals.

What we're looking for

  • Bachelor's degree required.
  • CPCU, ARM, CRM, or similar industry designation (preferred).
  • 12+ years of Commercial Property & Casualty insurance experience required; 15+ years preferred.
  • Deep Energy underwriting expertise across traditional and emerging energy sectors.
  • Experience leading underwriting portfolios, operating plans, profit centers, or complex specialty businesses.
  • Strong understanding of Energy risk management, pricing, portfolio management, distribution, and market dynamics.
  • Proven ability to build, lead, and develop high-performing underwriting organizations.
  • Credible market presence with brokers, customers, and industry stakeholders.
