Join our dedicated team as a Hardware Systems Engineer, collaborating closely with multi-functional groups including the Hardware, Module, and Design & Validation teams to innovate next-generation iPhone and iPad products. Your daily responsibilities will include evaluating system designs through test creation and execution, supporting hardware development at manufacturing partner facilities, and developing Failure Analysis reports. You will optimize test processes, enhance coverage by recommending improvements, and create benchmarking matrices using automation scripts for performance analysis. This role requires a Bachelor’s degree in Electrical or Computer Engineering with 3+ years of hands-on experience in prototype work and functional verification, proficiency with lab equipment such as digital multi-meters and oscilloscopes, and strong coding skills in Python, Perl, Shell, and Unix. Experience in developing automated test systems is preferred for this fast-paced environment at Apple.
Evaluate overall system design by conducting evaluation tests.
Support Hardware teams in developing next-generation iPhones and iPads.
Optimize test processes and develop benchmarking matrices.
Recommend improvements for coverage and script enhancements.
Build failure analysis reports and close potential test gaps.
What we're looking for
Bachelor’s degree in Electrical or Computer Engineering required.
At least 3 years of hands-on experience in prototype work and functional verification with electronics.
Proficiency with various lab equipment including digital multi-meters, spectrum analyzers, signal generators, oscilloscopes, power supplies, data loggers.
Strong coding/scripting skills in Python, Perl, Shell, or Unix.
Experience developing automated test and measurement systems preferred.
Ability to work independently under high pressure and in a dynamic environment.
