As a Hardware Systems Engineer, you will own the system-level architecture for autonomous delivery platforms across electrical, mechanical, firmware, sensor, and compute subsystems. You will be responsible for decomposing platform requirements into verifiable specifications for power distribution, motion control, embedded compute, and sensor suites while managing communication buses like CAN and Ethernet. Your daily work involves driving requirements traceability, interface control documents, trade studies, and verification and validation plans to ensure integrated functionality across multi-disciplinary teams. You will define fault-tolerant architectures using FMEA and fault trees, lead cross-boundary root-cause debugging between hardware and software, and translate regulatory goals into engineering specs. The role requires expertise in mechatronics, vehicle mechanicals, electronics, and autonomous perception systems to solve complex technical challenges inherent in building safe, reliable delivery robots within the robotics and automotive domains.
