As a Hardware Developer Intern 2027 -Austin, you will join the hardware development and product engineering team to support the lifecycle of processor, memory, and enterprise system technologies. You will be responsible for developing and executing test and validation solutions, designing and optimizing test methodologies across manufacturing and field environments, and performing reliability and burn-in activities. Your daily work involves analyzing engineering data to improve performance and building software or automation tools to enhance hardware and firmware validation while integrating AI-native workflows. You will utilize programming and scripting skills in languages such as Python, C/C++, and Java to solve complex technical challenges. This position focuses on ensuring high standards for quality, performance, and manufacturability within the core infrastructure of enterprise computing.

What you'll do

  • Develop and execute hardware, processor, memory, and system-level test and validation solutions.
  • Design, enable, and optimize test methodologies across development, characterization, qualification, and manufacturing environments.
  • Support product reliability, qualification, and burn-in activities to ensure robust operation throughout the lifecycle.
  • Analyze engineering and manufacturing data to identify issues and drive data-informed decisions.
  • Build software and automation solutions to enhance hardware validation and manufacturing operations.
  • Integrate AI-native engineering workflows to improve productivity and operational efficiency.
  • Solve complex technical challenges by collaborating with design, firmware, and manufacturing teams.

What we're looking for

  • High School Diploma or GED.
  • Bachelor's Degree (preferred).
  • Pursuing a Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, Physics, or a related STEM field.
  • Pursuing a Master's Degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, Physics, or a related STEM field (preferred).
  • Basic understanding of computer architecture, electronic systems, semiconductor technologies, hardware validation, or test engineering concepts.
  • Experience with programming, scripting, data analysis, or automation using languages such as Python, C/C++, Java, or similar technologies.
  • Demonstrated problem-solving, analytical, and debugging skills through coursework, research, internships, or project experience.
  • Knowledge of microprocessors, memory subsystems, storage technologies, or embedded systems (preferred).
