TL;DR · GPU Design Verification Engineer, Shader Core

The GPU Design Verification Engineer - Shader Core joins a team responsible for verifying the GPU shader processor core to ensure high-performance graphics and compute workloads. The role involves developing comprehensive verification plans, designing and executing directed and constrained-random tests, and debugging simulation failures to resolve functional issues. You will collaborate with architecture, hardware, and firmware teams to validate new features and improve design quality through coverage analysis and infrastructure automation. Required skills include proficiency in Verilog, SystemVerilog, C, C++, and scripting languages like Perl or Ruby. Candidates should possess knowledge of UVM-based environments, GPU architecture, graphics pipeline concepts, and Linux-based development. The role focuses on the technical challenge of ensuring reliability for complex hardware components within a high-performance computing environment using tools such as SystemC and Transaction-Level Modeling.

What you'll do

  • Develop comprehensive verification plans that account for feature interactions across hardware, firmware, and software.
  • Design, develop, and execute directed and constrained-random verification tests for GPU shader processor cores.
  • Debug simulation failures to identify the root causes of functional issues.
  • Partner with design and firmware engineers to resolve defects and improve overall design quality.
  • Analyze functional and code coverage results to implement improvements that meet specific goals.
  • Enhance verification methodologies, automation, and test infrastructure to increase productivity.
  • Contribute to the continuous improvement of verification processes, tools, and workflows.

What we're looking for

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or a related technical discipline preferred.
  • Experience with IP-level ASIC design verification.
  • Strong knowledge of UVM-based verification environments and methodologies.
  • Proficiency with Verilog, SystemVerilog, C, and C++.
  • Experience debugging RTL and firmware using simulation tools.
  • Understanding of GPU architecture and graphics pipeline concepts.
  • Familiarity with Linux-based development environments and scripting languages like Perl, Ruby, or shell.
  • Experience developing verification frameworks, testbenches, processes, and automation in distributed compute environments.
