The Global Adhesive Engineering & Digital Transformation Leader will define and execute the engineering strategy for an automotive and advanced mobility structural adhesives portfolio, including BETATECH™, BETAMATE™, BETAFORCE™, and BETASEAL™ technologies. This senior leadership role involves leading a global engineering organization to drive a multi-year digital transformation strategy utilizing AI/ML, physics-based modeling, and data-driven capabilities. The individual will serve as the technical authority for vehicle body structures, crashworthiness, lightweighting, and joint durability while overseeing advanced CAE and simulation capabilities like material model development and performance prediction. Key responsibilities include establishing standardized characterization methods, managing a global team across multiple regions, and acting as a technical partner to automotive OEMs. The role requires expertise in polymers, mechanical testing, and data management to solve complex engineering challenges in structural bonding, glazing, and battery assembly for the mobility sector.
Define and execute the global engineering strategy for automotive and advanced mobility structural adhesives.
Serve as the global technical authority for vehicle body structures, crashworthiness, lightweighting, and joint durability.
Direct advanced CAE and simulation capabilities including material model development and performance prediction.
Execute a multi-year digital transformation roadmap using AI/ML, physics-based modeling, and data-driven engineering.
Lead and develop a high-performing global engineering team across the Americas, EMEA, and APAC regions.
Act as a trusted technical partner to global automotive OEMs and Tier suppliers for product approval and adoption.
Manage the strategic investment and infrastructure planning for the Engineering Center of Excellence.
What we're looking for
Ph.D. in Mechanical Engineering, Engineering Mechanics, Materials Science, or a related technical discipline (M.S. with significant experience is acceptable).
15+ years of progressive experience in structural adhesives, polymers, or automotive materials.
Demonstrated experience leading global technical teams and developing high-performing engineering teams.
Expertise in CAE/FEA, material modeling, mechanical testing, and durability characterization.
Experience working directly with automotive OEMs in a senior technical or customer-facing leadership capacity.
Proven success leading large-scale digital, engineering, or data-driven transformation initiatives through cross-functional teams.
Expertise in crashworthiness, lightweighting, vehicle body structures, and the mechanics of durability, fatigue, and fracture performance (preferred).
Experience with AI/ML, physics-based modeling, Six Sigma Black Belt, or EV battery assembly applications (preferred).
