As a Gateway Fleet Specialist, you will join the Starlink team to manage the reliability, growth, and sustainment of a global fleet of satellite ground stations. You will serve as an owner-operator responsible for technical troubleshooting, spare parts strategy, inventory planning, and international logistics for gateway antennas across a specific region. Your daily work involves monitoring fleet health via telemetry data, performing root cause analysis on electrical, fiber optic, radiofrequency, and mechanical systems, and managing contractor performance in remote environments. To succeed, you will utilize SQL for data analysis, navigate MRP/ERP systems, and coordinate with customs authorities for international shipping. The role addresses the critical challenge of maintaining a massive infrastructure of ground stations that link satellites to the global internet backbone, ensuring consistent service quality through proactive maintenance and scalable operational processes.
Manage the maintenance, operations, health, and growth of a regional fleet of Starlink Gateway antennas and sites.
Develop and manage spare parts strategies and inventory planning to ensure rapid response for repairs.
Monitor fleet telemetry data to diagnose hardware/software failures and identify emerging degradation trends.
Perform root cause analysis on electrical, fiber optic, radiofrequency, and mechanical system failures with engineering teams.
Coordinate international logistics and customs clearances for the movement of critical equipment across borders.
Manage, train, and develop contracted labor and third-party vendors within the assigned region.
Analyze operational data to identify systemic pain points and improve internal processes and tools.
Build scalable organizational structures to support the rapid expansion of the global satellite ground station fleet.
What we're looking for
High school diploma or equivalency certificate.
2+ years of experience in operations, logistics, technical support, field service, data analytics, project management, or a similar role involving distributed assets.
1+ years of experience in customer support, technical support, quality specialist, process planner, business analyst, or leadership roles.
Hands-on experience with satellite ground stations, antennas, and electrical, fiber optic, radiofrequency, or mechanical systems.
Experience querying and analyzing data using SQL and other data visualization tools.
Experience managing contractors or third-party vendors in international or remote environments.
Proficiency in English and at least one other specified language (e.g., Portuguese, French, Hindi, Arabic, etc.).
Must be a U.S. citizen, national, lawful permanent resident, refugee, or asylee to meet ITAR requirements.
