As an FTS Distributed Infrastructure - Database Analysis, Advisor II, you will join the database team to ensure the efficiency, reliability, and security of critical systems. You will lead the analysis of database systems, design and implement architectures to meet complex business requirements, and manage performance tuning, query optimization, and indexing strategies. Your daily work involves monitoring system integrity, collaborating with development teams to resolve issues, and executing upgrades, migrations, and patching. You will utilize technologies including Microsoft SQL Server, Oracle, PostgreSQL, MySQL/MariaDB, MongoDB, Cassandra, and Snowflake, alongside cloud platforms like Azure and AWS. Additionally, you will use tools such as Splunk, Dynatrace, Grafana, and Prometheus while employing scripting languages like Python, PowerShell, Bash, Terraform, and Ansible to support mission-critical applications within a distributed enterprise environment.
Analyze database systems to ensure operational efficiency and reliability.
Design and implement database systems that meet complex business requirements.
Monitor and maintain database performance, security, and data integrity.
Serve as a subject matter expert to support other DBAs and technical teams on complex issues.
Plan and execute database upgrades, migrations, and patching for secure operations.
Partner with cybersecurity teams to ensure compliance with security policies and regulatory standards.
Develop and maintain comprehensive documentation for database systems and processes.
What we're looking for
Must have 8+ years of experience in enterprise database administration, engineering, or architecture supporting multiple platforms.
Must have 7+ years of experience with performance tuning, query optimization, indexing strategies, and data modeling.
Must have 5+ years of experience designing and supporting highly available, mission-critical database environments.
Must have 5+ years of experience administering enterprise platforms including SQL Server, Oracle, PostgreSQL, MySQL/MariaDB, MongoDB, Cassandra, or Snowflake.
Must possess a 4-year college degree and 6 years of experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
Must have valid and unrestricted U.S. work authorization.
Experience with cloud database technologies, replication, clustering, and monitoring tools like Splunk or Dynatrace.
Strong scripting/automation skills in PowerShell, Python, Bash, Terraform, or Ansible; DevOps and certifications are preferred.
