Firmware Development Principal Engineer

What you'll do

• Design, implement, and verify firmware in both pre-silicon and post-silicon environments.
• Develop embedded firmware to manage the performance of the CPU subsystem.
• Characterize and tune power management solutions for all Qualcomm SoCs using custom CPUs.
• Define CPU Performance Management solutions for future generations of Qualcomm processors.
• Contribute to open source communities regarding processor architectures, device drivers, and firmware features.
• Provide input to SoC and platform architects on future hardware designs.
• Collaborate with hardware and firmware teams to enable new platforms.

What we're looking for

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering or Computer Science with 8+ years of experience, Master's with 7+ years, or PhD with 6+ years of experience.
• 4+ years of work experience with programming languages such as C, C++, Java, or Python.
• Proficiency in writing and debugging C and assembly (preferred).
• Experience in embedded firmware development (preferred).
• Driver development experience in RTOS or OS Kernel environments (preferred).
• Development experience with embedded OSes such as Zephyr, eCos, uC/OS, or FreeRTOS (preferred).
• Experience developing for pre-silicon environments including simulators and FPGA emulation (preferred).
• Familiarity with ARM v8 architecture (preferred).
