The Excel Engineer joins the Technology Solutions team in a front-office facing role to support investment professionals. You will partner with PMs, analysts, and traders to build and maintain robust Excel-based tools, models, and add-ins that improve workflow efficiency and data access. Daily responsibilities include designing applications, optimizing workbook performance, and developing data integrations across underlying platforms. You will use C#, .NET, VBA, and Excel add-in technologies like Excel-DNA or Add-in Express. The role requires troubleshooting production issues, performing root-cause analysis, and collaborating with central technology teams. Key skills include SQL, Python, and experience with Office 365, SharePoint, and Power BI. You will solve technical problems related to calculation behavior, memory usage, and data patterns within complex financial investment workflows.

What we're looking for
3+ years of relevant experience within an investment bank, asset manager, hedge fund, or related software provider.
Degree in Computer Science, Data Science, Finance, or a related field.
Strong experience developing and supporting Excel-based applications, analytical models, or front-office tooling within an investment or financial services environment.
Deep understanding of Excel workbook design, calculation behavior, performance optimization, and stability in complex user workflows.
Strong C# and .NET development skills, including experience building Excel integrations, automation, or add-ins.
Experience working in a highly user-facing role, partnering with PMs, analysts, traders, or other business users.
Experience with SQL and data integration across enterprise data platforms; Python is a plus (preferred).
Familiarity with Excel add-in frameworks such as Excel-DNA, Add-in Express, or similar technologies.
