The candidate will work with Ethernet interfaces, high-speed digital connectivity, and protocols such as TCP/IP, UDP, and ARP. Key technical areas include network segmentation via VLANs and subnetting, and hardware cybersecurity principles like encryption, secure boot, and trusted platform architectures. Required skills include proficiency in Verilog, VHDL, or SystemVerilog, along with experience in digital hardware design, telecommunications, and high-speed serial interfaces to solve complex problems in the defense sector.

What you'll do

  • Perform FPGA development including HDL design, simulation, synthesis, timing analysis, and laboratory bring-up.
  • Support the design, integration, and verification of high-performance hardware for mission-critical defense systems.
  • Conduct schematic analysis, component selection, PCB layout reviews, and hardware troubleshooting.
  • Design network hardware and physical-layer components including Ethernet interfaces and high-speed digital connectivity.
  • Implement network segmentation and data-isolation strategies such as VLANs, subnetting, and access-control boundaries.
  • Apply hardware cybersecurity principles including encryption, secure boot, and trusted platform architectures.
  • Conduct root-cause investigations and develop corrective actions for identified hardware issues.
  • Communicate technical findings, impacts, and corrective actions to the engineering team in written and verbal formats.

What we're looking for

  • U.S. citizenship is required.
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a Secret security clearance.
  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, or a related Science, Engineering, or Mathematics field.
  • A minimum of 2 years of relevant experience with a Bachelor's degree, or 6 months of relevant experience with a Master's degree.
  • Working knowledge of electrical engineering concepts, principles, processes, and design tools.
  • Experience or coursework in FPGA/HDL development, digital hardware design, PCB design, networking hardware, telecommunications, or hardware cybersecurity.
  • Ability to communicate technical issues, impacts, and corrective actions clearly in written and verbal formats.
  • Experience with Verilog, VHDL, SystemVerilog, or other FPGA tools (preferred); experience with commercial networking, telecom, or defense systems (preferred).
