As an Engineering - SRE Platforms - SRE Engineer - Associate, you will join the Site Reliability Engineering team to build and run large-scale, massively distributed, fault-tolerant systems. You will be responsible for ensuring the availability of critical platform services while developing and operating observability platforms used by other engineering teams. Your daily work involves monitoring system health, managing incidents, conducting blameless post-mortems, and partnering with development teams to improve services through rigorous testing and automation. The role requires expertise in systems engineering and software development to balance feature velocity with defined SLOs. You will utilize skills in Go, Python, C, C++, Java, Perl, Ruby, or shell scripting. Candidates should possess knowledge of UNIX operating systems, networking, data structures, algorithms, and distributed systems design within a highly regulated financial services environment.

What you'll do

Balance feature development velocity with reliability by meeting well-defined SLOs.
Monitor production environment availability and maintain a holistic view of system health.
Manage incidents and lead blameless post-mortem processes.
Improve services through rigorous testing and release procedures in partnership with developers.
Provide consulting on system design, platform management, and capacity planning.
Create sustainable systems and services through automation and infrastructure uplifts.
Champion reliability and resilience engineering practices across the firm.

What we're looking for

Minimum of 2+ years of hands-on experience in Site Reliability Engineering for building and maintaining highly available, scalable, and fault-tolerant systems at an enterprise level.
BS degree in Computer Science or a related technical field involving coding and/or systems engineering.
Proficiency in one or more of the following: Go, Python, C, C++, Java, Perl, Ruby, or shell scripting.
Experience with product engineering practices, algorithms, data structures, software design, UNIX operating systems internals, and/or networking.
Experience in developing AI tools and working with Cloud Platforms (preferred).
Experience with distributed systems design, maintenance, and troubleshooting (preferred).
Hands-on experience with debugging, optimizing code, and automation (preferred).
Experience working in highly regulated financial services firms (preferred).
