The Engineering Program Manager - HomeKit joins the HomeKit software engineering group to drive key software initiatives and integrate them with hardware roadmaps. The role requires a sound technical foundation and knowledge of software engineering standard methodologies to collaborate with Engineering, Design, Quality, Hardware, Privacy, and Marketing teams. The work focuses on delivering software for foundational wireless and sensor technologies and user experiences across iOS, macOS, watchOS, tvOS, and AirPods.

What you'll do

Drive, own, and ship all aspects of large, multi-functional software efforts and feature areas.
Partner with engineering teams through architecture, design, implementation, and validation phases.
Proactively identify, prioritize, and drive resolution to program issues.
Present new feature initiatives, top issues, risks, and critical achievements to executive leadership.
Own the roadmap, priorities, timelines, and technologies for the program.
Improve ongoing program management processes for the team.
Integrate software initiatives with hardware roadmaps across multiple technical fields.

What we're looking for

At least 5 years of program or product management in software development.
Knowledge of software engineering standard methodologies and related dependencies.
Experience driving multi-functional efforts across major technical fields including SW, HW, Design, Silicon, and QA.
BS in Computer Science or a related field.
Outstanding communication and presentation skills to engineers, managers, and executives (preferred).
Identifying risks, developing mitigation strategies, and facilitating resolutions (preferred).
Sound technical foundation and a highly motivated self-starter (preferred).
Strong leadership skills and the ability to inspire team members (preferred).
