TL;DR · Engineering Product Manager

The Engineering Product Manager joins the Cisco Cloud Control team to build a unified operating experience across networking, security, compute, observability, and collaboration products. This role focuses on deployment portability for customer-managed, hybrid, sovereign, and disconnected environments with specific data governance requirements. You will own the product strategy and multi-quarter roadmap for on-premises deployments and sovereign cloud offerings, defining product boundaries for various connectivity models. Responsibilities include setting requirements for installation, upgrades, high availability, disaster recovery, and secure decommissioning while translating sovereignty and residency needs into technical capabilities. The role requires expertise in distributed systems, enterprise infrastructure, and Kubernetes-based platforms. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure serviceability and reliability across diverse environments. Key skills include managing complex lifecycle products, navigating regulatory tradeoffs, and overseeing security protocols like PKI, encryption, and identity management for customer-controlled infrastructures.

What you'll do

  • Own the product strategy and multi-quarter roadmap for on-premises and sovereign cloud offerings.
  • Define deployment profiles and product boundaries for connected, intermittently connected, and disconnected environments.
  • Set product requirements for installation, upgrades, high availability, disaster recovery, and secure decommissioning.
  • Translate sovereignty, data residency, identity, and encryption needs into clear product capabilities and release criteria.
  • Lead execution across engineering, security, compliance, legal, and operations teams to ensure deployment success.
  • Establish measurable outcomes for upgrade reliability, serviceability, and customer adoption of cloud control features.

What we're looking for

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience.
  • 8+ years of product management, technical product management, or platform product management experience in cloud, networking, distributed systems, or enterprise infrastructure.
  • 5+ years of experience working with customer-managed enterprise software, hybrid or private cloud, sovereign cloud, appliances, or distributed platforms.
  • Experience defining production requirements for installation, upgrades, version compatibility, backup and restore, high availability, disaster recovery, security, data residency, or operational support.
  • Experience leading at least one multi-team product or platform initiative from discovery and product definition through production delivery.
  • Experience with Kubernetes-based platforms, virtual or physical appliances, private cloud, or disconnected deployments (preferred).
  • Knowledge of data, operational, and technological sovereignty requirements, including residency, local control, audit, and continuity considerations (preferred).
  • Experience defining lifecycle products for software installation, upgrade orchestration, rollback, backup and restore, high availability, disaster recovery, and secure decommissioning (preferred).
