Engineering Manager, Travel

What you'll do

• Build and lead a new full-stack team owning a specific part of the next-generation travel experience.
• Define the team's mandate, boundaries, and strategic focus within the broader Travel group.
• Set the technical and product direction while making high-level decisions on what to build and why.
• Ship a high-quality, reliable, and competitive customer-facing travel product.
• Hire, onboard, and provide career development and mentorship for engineers at all levels.
• Foster a people-centered team culture built on trust, enablement, and context-sharing.
• Partner cross-functionally with Travel, Expenses, and Product teams to align on scope and delivery.
• Apply an AI-forward mindset to the team's development processes and technical operations.

What we're looking for

• Track record of engineering leadership building and scaling customer-facing products.
• Experience hiring and growing engineering teams.
• Ability to make and defend product and UX tradeoffs with strong product sense.
• Staff-engineer-level technical proficiency to operate at all levels and earn technical respect.
• Demonstrated experience coaching and mentoring engineers across all levels.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Strong customer empathy and advocacy.
• Travel domain experience (preferred).
• Experience standing up a new team or product area from scratch (preferred).
