TL;DR · Electrical Hardware Development Lead

As an Electrical Hardware Development Lead, you will lead an electrical engineering team through the complete development lifecycle of mission-critical hardware systems within the Airborne Systems business area. You will provide technical direction from initial requirements analysis and architecture development through design, manufacturing, integration, and production support. Your daily responsibilities include managing trade studies, cost estimates, risk assessments, and coordinating with cross-functional teams in software, firmware, and supply chain. You will oversee schematic development, PWB layout, signal and power integrity analysis, and root cause investigations for complex hardware issues. The role requires expertise in digital and analog circuit design, high-speed interfaces, and power architecture. Key tools include Siemens/Mentor Graphics for layout and HyperLynx for integrity analysis. You will solve technical challenges by translating mission needs into executable hardware solutions while ensuring compliance with program cost and schedule commitments.

What you'll do

  • Lead electrical engineering teams through all phases of the hardware development lifecycle.
  • Develop electrical architectures, trade studies, technical plans, cost estimates, and risk assessments.
  • Manage electrical requirements, interfaces, critical component selections, and design constraints.
  • Oversee schematic development, PWB layout, signal/power integrity analysis, and hardware integration.
  • Coordinate technical activities across systems, mechanical, software, manufacturing, and supply chain teams.
  • Lead design reviews and present technical status and risk mitigation plans to leadership and customers.
  • Drive root cause and corrective action investigations for complex hardware issues.
  • Support proposal development and the creation of compliant technical solutions for business capture.

What we're looking for

  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field with at least 8 years of experience.
  • Master's degree with at least 6 years of relevant experience.
  • U.S. citizenship is required for this position.
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a Department of Defense Secret security clearance.
  • Expert knowledge of electrical hardware development processes across the complete program lifecycle.
  • Proficiency in digital/analog circuit design, high-speed interfaces, power architecture, and signal/power integrity analysis.
  • Experience with Siemens/Mentor Graphics tools for schematic entry, layout, and HyperLynx analysis.
  • Proven ability to lead multidisciplinary teams through complex hardware development and manufacturing phases.
