Distributed Systems Software Engineer

What you'll do

• Design and develop large-scale distributed systems ensuring high availability and fault tolerance.
• Build and manage cloud infrastructure using infrastructure-as-code tools like Terraform or Ansible.
• Develop and maintain real-time and batch data processing pipelines using technologies like Kafka or Spark.
• Implement container orchestration and management solutions using Kubernetes and Docker.
• Build and run automated provisioning, monitoring, and deployment systems for critical services.
• Solve complex system problems using software engineering principles rather than manual shell scripts.
• Manage multi-clustered services with a focus on zero-downtime deployments and durable execution.
• Troubleshoot and optimize infrastructure for satellite communication and IoT edge device connectivity.

What we're looking for

• 5+ years of software engineering or DevOps experience.
• Proficiency in at least one of the following languages: Python, Go, Rust, or C++.
• Strong experience with large-scale distributed systems including replication, high availability, and data processing/streaming.
• Strong experience with Linux/UNIX administration, configuration, and monitoring.
• Experience with cloud environments (AWS, GCP, Azure) involving identity management, pub/sub, and message queuing.
• Experience with infrastructure-as-code tools such as Terraform, CloudFormation, Puppet, Flux, or Ansible.
• Experience with containerization and orchestration technologies like Docker and Kubernetes.
• Experience with zero-downtime deployments, job scheduling systems, and event-based messaging systems.
• Deep understanding of distributed systems principles, consensus algorithms, and durable execution platforms (preferred).
• Proven experience building real-time/batch data pipelines using Kafka, Spark, Flink, or Beam (preferred).
• Experience with IoT/Edge device compute, RF, Cellular, or Satellite communications (preferred).
• Engineering or technical BS degree (preferred).
