Distributed Systems Software Engineer

What you'll do

• Design and develop large-scale distributed systems with a focus on high availability and fault tolerance.
• Build and manage cloud infrastructure using Infrastructure-as-Code (IaC) tools like Terraform or Ansible.
• Develop, monitor, and maintain backend services for satellite communication features.
• Implement real-time and batch data processing pipelines using technologies like Kafka or Spark.
• Manage containerized applications and orchestrate deployments using Kubernetes and Docker.
• Build automated provisioning, monitoring, and deployment systems within a no-ops culture.
• Troubleshoot and resolve complex issues in high-traffic, production-level distributed environments.
• Develop software-based solutions to automate infrastructure tasks rather than relying on manual scripts.

What we're looking for

• 5+ years of software engineering or DevOps experience.
• Proficiency in at least one of the following languages: Python, Go, Rust, or C++.
• Strong experience with large-scale distributed systems including replication, high availability, and data processing/streaming.
• Strong experience with Linux/UNIX administration, configuration, and monitoring.
• Experience with cloud environments (AWS, GCP, Azure), infrastructure-as-code tools, containerization, and orchestration technologies.
• Experience with zero-downtime deployments, job scheduling systems, and event-based messaging systems.
• Strong operational and troubleshooting skills with the ability to learn new technologies quickly.
• Engineering or technical BS degree (preferred).
