What you'll do

Define and drive the multi-year technology strategy and North Star architecture for the Transactions, Cart, and Checkout ecosystems.
Provide end-to-end architectural leadership to ensure seamless customer progression from purchase intent to order placement.
Modernize complex transaction platforms to improve scalability, resiliency, performance, and engineering velocity.
Establish clear domain boundaries, architectural patterns, APIs, and integration strategies across interconnected commerce systems.
Architect highly available and fault-tolerant systems capable of handling peak shopping events and traffic spikes.
Lead the architectural evolution of payment and tender orchestration capabilities while protecting transaction integrity.
Identify and eliminate systemic technical constraints and architectural bottlenecks across the global transaction ecosystem.
Mentor Principal Engineers and senior technical leaders to strengthen architectural thinking and engineering excellence.

What we're looking for

Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related technical discipline and 6 years of software engineering experience.
8 years of experience in software engineering or a related area.
13+ years of progressive software engineering and architecture experience, including significant technical leadership for large-scale platforms.
Deep experience architecting and operating highly scalable distributed systems for high-volume digital customer experiences and transaction workloads.
Demonstrated experience defining enterprise-scale architecture strategies, North Star architectures, and multi-year platform modernization roadmaps.
Deep expertise in microservices, APIs, event-driven systems, cloud platforms, caching, distributed data systems, messaging, and observability.
Strong understanding of distributed transaction patterns, consistency, idempotency, failure recovery, fault isolation, and high-availability architecture.
Master's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related area and 4 years of software engineering experience (preferred).
