As a Distinguished Engineer - Rack Scale Architecture, you will join the team to drive the engineering roadmap and innovation for rack system software architecture. You will work with complex system software for accelerators like GPUs, DPUs, and FPGAs while utilizing protocols such as Ethernet, InfiniBand, Redfish, and IPMI. Your work addresses the technical challenges of designing scalable, performant server systems at the hardware and software interface within large-scale data center environments.

What you'll do

Drive the end-to-end software architecture for NVIDIA's rack-scale products.
Translate forward-looking product roadmaps into formal software requirements to guide organizational execution.
Serve as a trusted architectural partner to provide guidance and oversight on high-quality, reliable software.
Engage directly with major customers to align their requirements with the internal product roadmap.
Collaborate with business partners and vendors to shape products that meet specific NVIDIA needs.
Develop roadmaps for new technologies and protocols while driving their design and adoption.
Mentor architects and engineering teams to develop them into future leaders.
Make critical technical decisions when faced with complex ambiguity.

What we're looking for

BS or MS degree in Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
15+ years of experience in system architecture and design.
Deep experience designing architecture for scalable and performant server systems at the software/hardware interface.
Strong understanding of networking technologies and protocols such as Ethernet and InfiniBand.
Experience working with complex system software for accelerators like GPUs, DPUs, or FPGAs.
Expertise in out-of-band and in-band management architectures including Redfish and IPMI.
Experience collaborating with security experts to balance security requirements with ease of use.
Demonstrated experience implementing a left shift strategy to de-risk program execution.
