Director, Software Engineering, Agent Platform

What you'll do

• Own the end-to-end delivery, operational health, quality, and roadmap for the Agent Platform organization.
• Drive reliability by reducing incident inflow, closing corrective actions, and building proactive observability.
• Lead and develop four engineering managers across multiple global geographies to build leadership depth.
• Represent the domain to executives and customers by owning incident communications and platform inquiries.
• Execute the re-architecture of the monolithic control plane into regional, horizontally scalable services.
• Plan capacity and headcount while balancing trade-offs between reliability, re-architecture, and feature delivery.
• Grow senior engineering capability within the United States to ensure depth during US business hours.

What we're looking for

• Must be based in the EST or CST time zones.
• Typically 12 or more years in software engineering.
• At least 3 years leading multiple teams through managers in a SaaS or cloud infrastructure environment.
• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
• Demonstrated success leading engineering teams across multiple time zones and cultures.
• Experience running a high-availability SaaS platform in production, including incident command, root cause discipline, and SLOs.
• Strong background in distributed backend systems at scale, including cloud infrastructure, Kubernetes, data stores, and multi-tenancy.
• Experience managing managers, hiring senior engineers, and providing executive and customer communication.
• Security domain experience (preferred).
