Director, Security Engineering

What you'll do

• Develop and maintain a comprehensive vision and strategy for security architecture, pen-testing, and engineering.
• Manage a global team of security experts across multiple time zones to meet business needs.
• Lead a portfolio of architecture-related services to ensure systems remain secure during feature releases and scaling.
• Design and develop robust security reference architectures for infrastructure, applications, cloud, and mobile platforms.
• Drive the adoption of AI and automation to enhance detective and preventive cybersecurity control sets.
• Collaborate with product, development, and operations teams to ensure security alignment across all cloud offerings.
• Provide mentoring and career growth guidance to security team members and first-line managers.
• Coordinate with Legal, Compliance, and Audit functions to maintain a strong corporate security posture.

What we're looking for

• Must have 10+ years of experience as an engineer with hands-on security architecture, pen-testing, and engineering experience.
• Must have 4+ years of experience as a Director or VP-level manager at a large organization like a Fortune 500 company.
• Must have experience leading first-line managers and directors across multiple departments with a scope of 20+ direct reports.
• Must be able to read, write, and speak English.
• Must possess deep background in security architecture, pen-testing, and engineering across infrastructure, application, cloud, and mobile platforms.
• Must have experience with security standards, policies, risk assessments, and compliance regulations such as NIST, HIPAA, ISO, COBIT, OWASP, or ITIL.
• Must have experience with highly sensitive regulated data associated with industries such as healthcare.
• Knowledge of healthcare, distribution, or software industries is a plus (preferred).
• Experience with law enforcement, defense, or intelligence communities is a plus (preferred).
• OSCP, SANS/GIAC, CISSP, or other similar professional certifications are a plus (preferred).
• Ability to obtain and maintain a federal security clearance is strongly preferred (preferred).
