The Director of Software Engineering, Comms Apps Teams leads engineering teams within Platform Apps & Technologies to define and deliver essential communication and productivity experiences for iOS. The work focuses on ensuring continuity features across CarPlay, Apple Watch, iPad, and Mac while collaborating with carrier partners and standards bodies on telephony and messaging innovations to solve complex communication problems at scale.

What we're looking for
At least 2 years of experience at Director level or above.
Strong understanding of privacy, security, and encryption in communication applications.
Excellence in system design for offline-first, sync-enabled, multi-device applications.
Track record of recruiting, mentoring, and developing world-class iOS engineers.
Ability to influence and align stakeholders across hardware, software, and services organizations.
Excellence in technical communication for audiences ranging from individual contributors to executive leadership.
Experience managing technical teams through ambiguity, organizational change, and evolving priorities.
Bachelor’s in Computer Science or equivalent work experience with a track record of shipping consumer-scale communication or productivity applications (preferred).
