Director of Software Engineering, Acceleration & Modern Engineering Practices

What you'll do

• Create complex, scalable coding frameworks and develop secure, high-quality production code.
• Architect and govern agentic AI-enabled engineering workflows to improve delivery speed and code quality.
• Set technical direction for architecture, API strategy, data modeling, and platform engineering.
• Modernize engineering practices including CI/CD pipelines, automated testing frameworks, and observability.
• Run pod governance to prioritize work, clear blockers, and drive Go/No-Go decisions.
• Lead the end-to-end Acceleration Program lifecycle from initial intake through production rollout.
• Institutionalize the reuse of proven components to reduce time-to-deliver and improve consistency.
• Build delivery guardrails to reduce common failure modes like technical debt and organizational silos.

What we're looking for

• Formal training or certification on software engineering concepts and 10+ years of applied experience.
• 5+ years of experience leading technologists to manage and solve complex technical items within a domain of expertise.
• Proficiency in CI/CD, testing frameworks, and automation.
• Proficiency in Python or Java for production services, data applications, and automation tooling.
• Experience in UI development, data modeling, distributed systems architecture, and integration/APIs.
• Practical production experience with AWS services including networking, compute, storage, security/IAM, and monitoring.
• Proven ability to drive cross-functional alignment and operate within a governance model with senior stakeholders.
• Experience running outcome-first delivery models, scaling delivery velocity, and partnering with UX/design (preferred); experience in Asset Management technology (preferred).
