As Director of Product Management, Observability, you will lead a distributed team of product managers to own Streams, the shared telemetry pipeline for the Elastic platform. You will be responsible for the end-to-end strategy and roadmap for data collection, ingestion, processing, and routing. Your daily work involves defining KPIs for feature adoption, partnering with product leaders across Observability, Security, and Search, and collaborating with engineers and designers to scope compelling features. You will focus on making data ingestion self-service with a goal of achieving time-to-first-data in minutes. The role requires deep technical fluency in OpenTelemetry, Prometheus, log processing, and agent management. You will solve the complex problem of building a shared infrastructure that allows customers to route data from any source into Elasticsearch or object storage.
Own the strategy and roadmap for data collection, ingestion, processing, routing, and the integrations framework.
Lead a team of distributed product managers to deliver measurable outcomes.
Define and track KPIs focused on product and feature adoption.
Scope and define compelling features in coordination with engineers and designers.
Drive roadmap priorities by engaging with customers, internal teams, and the community.
Provide clear messaging and positioning to enable sales, marketing, and partners.
Ensure data ingestion is self-service with a goal of minutes for time-to-first-data.
What we're looking for
10+ years in product management.
4+ years leading PM teams in data infrastructure, observability, or data pipelines.
Deep technical fluency in telemetry ingest including OpenTelemetry, Prometheus, log processing, routing, and agent management.
Experience shipping SaaS products with usage-based pricing and building shared platform capabilities.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Familiarity with the Elastic Stack (preferred).
Must not be a national of or located in Belarus, Cuba, Iran, North Korea, Syria, or Russia (including annexed Ukrainian territories) without an export license.
