The Director of Infrastructure Engineering (ITAM) joins the Core Engineering Solutions team to manage multiple areas of the firm’s technology infrastructure. This role involves setting operational goals, driving technical methods, and managing large cross-functional teams to ensure service level agreements and scalability. Key responsibilities include establishing governance for AI-assisted workflows, managing budgets, and converting manual processes into automated workflows. The position requires expertise in IT Asset Management, Tech Risk and Controls, and infrastructure engineering concepts. Candidates must utilize Agile practices and Jira for backlog prioritization. Technical requirements include knowledge of Cloud, on-prem, and SaaS assets, along with experience in AWS, Azure, Python, Terraform, Git, and CI/CD pipelines. The role focuses on infrastructure design, resilience, and security risk mitigation within a complex financial services environment.
Manage multiple technical areas and lead large teams to deliver complex infrastructure projects.
Set the direction for enterprise-authorized AI adoption with human-in-the-loop validation and data security.
Establish cross-domain governance standards for AI-assisted workflows to ensure traceability and auditability.
Ensure technical compliance, risk management, security protocols, and service level agreements are met.
Manage staffing, budgets, and profit and loss for the infrastructure engineering function.
Convert manual processes into automated workflows on a continuous basis.
Use Agile practices and Jira to plan, prioritize, and deliver infrastructure engineering work.
Develop and execute strategic and operational plans with accountability for technical outcomes.
What we're looking for
Formal training or certification on infrastructure engineering concepts and 10+ years of applied experience.
Knowledge of how infrastructure assets (Cloud, on-prem, private Cloud, SaaS) are registered, stored, and tracked through end-to-end life cycle.
Strong background in Tech Risk & Controls oversight, monitoring, and reporting with proven ability to execute controls framework activities.
Experience managing, coaching, and mentoring teams and fostering a high-performance culture within the infrastructure engineering discipline.
Demonstrated experience leading safe adoption of enterprise-authorized AI capabilities and defining review/approval expectations for AI-assisted recommendations.
Experience leading complex projects supporting infrastructure engineering design, scaling, resilience, and system performance assessments.
Hands-on experience with AWS and Azure Cloud platforms (preferred).
Hands-on experience with Python or other scripting tools (preferred).
