This role oversees electrical power systems, clean utilities, black utilities, energy infrastructure, reliability, maintainability, and electrical safety. The individual will manage a global team of experts to support brownfield expansions, modernization programs, and greenfield manufacturing investments while establishing engineering standards, design criteria, and governance. Key responsibilities include overseeing medium- and low-voltage power distribution, substations, transformers, switchgear, motor control, and emergency power systems. Additionally, the role manages clean utilities like purified water and steam, alongside black utilities such as compressed air and nitrogen. The position requires expertise in electrical safety, arc-flash risk, power quality, and system studies within a regulated pharmaceutical manufacturing environment to ensure infrastructure is safe, compliant, resilient, and energy efficient.

What you'll do

  • Establish and enforce global engineering standards for electrical power systems, clean utilities, black utilities, and energy infrastructure.
  • Provide senior technical leadership for large-scale capital investments including new facilities, brownfield expansions, and modernization programs.
  • Manage the design and reliability of medium/low-voltage distribution, substations, emergency power, and utility distribution networks.
  • Lead a global team of technical experts by setting priorities, providing mentorship, and managing performance.
  • Oversee technical reviews for project milestones including load lists, single-line diagrams, capacity models, and commissioning strategies.
  • Ensure all engineering solutions comply with safety, quality, environmental standards, and manufacturing regulations like GMP.
  • Manage external partners, including EPCM firms and vendors, to ensure high-quality delivery and adherence to corporate standards.
  • Communicate complex technical risks and investment recommendations to senior executive stakeholders across the global organization.

What we're looking for

  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or a closely related engineering discipline required; master’s degree or relevant professional qualification preferred.
  • Typically 15 or more years of progressive experience in electrical, utilities, manufacturing, capital projects, or technical operations with significant leadership responsibility.
  • Extensive experience in pharmaceutical, biopharmaceutical, API, peptide, biologics, or similarly regulated manufacturing environments.
  • Demonstrated experience leading electrical and utilities engineering for major brownfield and greenfield capital investments.
  • Proven experience leading, developing, and managing performance of technical professionals in a global matrix organization.
  • Strong technical knowledge of industrial power distribution, emergency power, electrical safety, reliability, and clean/black utilities.
  • Working knowledge of GMP, EHS, validation/CQV, commissioning, and operational readiness for regulated assets.
  • Strong commercial acumen to assess lifecycle value, capital costs, and risk while influencing senior stakeholders.
