Director, Engineering - Digital Enablement

What you'll do

• Lead and develop a team of frontend engineers, UX developers, and designers to meet their career goals.
• Define and execute the modern frontend strategy for the Workplace Investing digital platform.
• Manage large-scale monorepo environments including governance, build strategies, and dependency management.
• Advance and enhance the enterprise accessibility tool suite in compliance with WCAG 2.2 standards.
• Oversee technical direction, code quality, and engineering best practices across all frontend projects.
• Develop and mentor technical leads to ensure high-quality user experiences and consistent UI components.
• Optimize developer productivity through shared services, CI/CD pipelines, and AI-assisted tools like GitHub Copilot.
• Influence business partners and engineering leaders to champion platform modernization and frontend standards.

What we're looking for

• 8+ years of experience managing fast-paced technology with a focus on Front-End teams.
• Experience leading engineering talent, setting technical direction, and developing other technical leaders.
• Hands-on expertise in Angular, TypeScript, and component-driven UI development including build, testing, and performance optimization.
• Experience owning large-scale monorepo environments, including governance, dependency management, and developer productivity tooling.
• Firm understanding of accessibility standards and experience testing against WCAG 2.2.
• Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines supporting frontend assets, shared UI libraries, and client-side builds.
• Practical experience with DevAssist tools like GitHub Copilot or Claude Code to optimize engineering efforts with AI.
• Prior experience serving as a technical lead (preferred).
