Director, AI/ML Engineering

What you'll do

• Establish a technology vision and strategy for AI engineering, including agentic systems, generative AI, and automation workflows.
• Define and execute a roadmap for autonomous, multi-step agentic AI systems that integrate with existing ML platforms.
• Lead the adoption of large language models and multimodal AI to create differentiated customer experiences and internal tools.
• Architect and govern automated pipelines that connect generative AI components with traditional machine learning models.
• Manage and develop a 40+ member team of engineers across feature engineering, ML Ops, and automation.
• Partner with product leadership to deliver AI/ML services for omni-channel front-end experiences like websites and mobile apps.
• Establish responsible AI governance practices including safety, bias mitigation, and compliance guardrails for generative systems.
• Collaborate with security and legal teams to ensure all AI features meet data governance and privacy requirements.

What we're looking for

• BA/BS degree required; Master's degree preferred.
• Must be authorized to work in the United States on a full-time basis.
• 10+ years of experience in AI engineering, generative AI, or Data Science/Machine Learning fields.
• 5+ years of experience managing direct reports and leading large teams of 40+ members.
• Experience with LLMs, agentic AI frameworks (e.g., LangChain, AutoGen), and AI automation platforms.
• Proficiency in ML Ops and designing AI workflow automation solutions integrating LLMs, APIs, and traditional models.
• Familiarity with generative AI tools and platforms such as OpenAI, Anthropic, AWS Bedrock, or Azure OpenAI.
• Experience with lean/agile development processes and managing diverse stakeholder groups.
