Database Administrator

What you'll do

• Manage the enterprise data dictionary and set infrastructure standards for all databases.
• Design, install, manage, and perform performance tuning for database systems.
• Develop and implement system changes, upgrades, and backup, restore, and disaster recovery processes.
• Provide technical troubleshooting and support for the database programming group.
• Create task-level project plans and document technical designs using charts, diagrams, and schemas.
• Establish and assess internal controls to ensure compliance with University policies and procedures.
• Provide senior technical leadership to database design teams and coordinate with other IT groups.
• Report on system problems, solutions, and forecasted equipment requirements to leadership.

What we're looking for

• Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field.
• Minimum 5 years of database administration experience in Microsoft SQL Server, Oracle, and MySQL.
• Knowledge of business and management principles.
• Ability to direct, manage, implement, and evaluate department operations.
• Ability to establish department goals and objectives that support the strategic plan.
• Ability to effectively plan, delegate, and/or supervise the work of others.
• Ability to lead, motivate, develop, and train others.
