Data Scientist 6, Experimentation Platform

What you'll do

• Set the strategic direction for the Experimentation Platform, including UI design and user flows.
• Define how data scientists contribute metrics, reports, and templates to the platform.
• Verify that the platform uses valid, trustworthy causal inference methods for data processing.
• Act as a strategic thought partner to bridge data science requirements with engineering implementation.
• Set standards for inference practices like covariate adjustment and metric definitions across the company.
• Consolidate fragmented, bespoke experimentation systems into a single, coherent, and maintainable platform.
• Mentor team members and represent the platform's point of view in company-wide methodology discussions.

What we're looking for

• Advanced degree (PhD or Masters) in Computer Science, Statistics, Economics, Applied Mathematics, or a related quantitative field.
• 8+ years of experience with statistics and causal inference in an experimentation context.
• Demonstrated track record of setting standards or building tools adopted across multiple teams or an entire organization.
• Deep practical knowledge of experimentation pitfalls such as sample ratio mismatches, winner's curse, and false discovery rates.
• Experience translating ambiguous data science pain points into a sequenced product roadmap.
• 5+ years of experience with data science languages, ideally including Python and SQL.
• Excellent cross-functional communication skills with a demonstrated ability to influence both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
• Comfort partnering closely with engineers on API, schema, and system design.
