The Data Governance and Stewardship Lead joins the JJMT Electrophysiology team to develop, operationalize, and validate a data governance framework mapping usage and access restrictions to internal inventory. The individual will collaborate with multi-functional teams to define data ownership and ensure compliant access to preclinical, clinical, and commercial assets to support patient safety and product development. Key requirements include experience in highly regulated industries using cloud technologies to manage data platforms, pipelines, and analytics environments. Essential skills include data quality management, information security risk management, and privacy-enhancing computation. The role addresses the challenge of ensuring high-quality, compliant data access within a complex medical technology and life sciences environment involving electrophysiology and product lifecycle assets.
Implement and operationalize data usage policies, access controls, and stewardship requirements across all inventory assets.
Design and improve data governance programs to ensure high-quality and compliant data access.
Develop automation workflows that apply data access and usage policies to governed holdings.
Conduct trade studies and technical evaluations for data governance tools and scalable implementation models.
Maintain business glossaries, data lineage, and other core data management activities.
Partner with multi-functional teams to define data ownership, permitted uses, and access requirements.
Co-lead the implementation of audit workflows and performance metrics to measure compliance and quality.
Coach junior colleagues on governance processes, techniques, and operational expectations.
What we're looking for
Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience in data science, Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, Life Sciences, Biomedical Engineering, or a related field.
At least 3 years of experience in data governance within a highly regulated industry.
Experience with data governance technologies to support stewardship, data quality, lineage, and access management.
Experience using cloud technologies to build, optimize, and govern data platforms, pipelines, and analytics environments.
Ability to collaborate with business, technical, and compliance teams to translate requirements into scalable processes.
Strong written and verbal communication skills to present technical concepts to multi-functional customers.
Experience in MedTech, healthcare, life sciences, clinical research, or regulatory environments (preferred).
Familiarity with data catalog, metadata management, workflow automation, or analytics platforms (preferred).
