The Data Engineer, Officer joins the Data, Analytics & AI Services team to support the investment management business through architecture, engineering execution, and modernization strategy. This role involves designing, developing, and maintaining data pipelines, robust workflows, and data ingestion solutions. You will build containerized applications for APIs, streaming, and batch processing while developing Iceberg and Unity Catalog based tables for performant analytical access. Key technologies include Python, PySpark, SQL, Databricks, Snowflake, AWS, and Azure. You will also manage CI/CD pipelines using Jenkins, Artifactory, and GitHub. The position requires translating business requirements into technical solutions for high concurrency analytical workloads, utilizing AI code generation tools like GitHub Copilot to improve development quality within a modern Lakehouse and cloud-native analytics ecosystem.
Design, develop, test, and maintain data pipelines using Python, PySpark, and SQL.
Build and manage data ingestion and transformation solutions using Databricks and Snowflake.
Design and maintain CI/CD pipelines using tools such as Jenkins, Artifactory, and GitHub.
Develop containerized applications for APIs, event-based, streaming, and batch processing using Docker.
Develop Iceberg and Unity Catalog based tables for consistent analytical access across compute engines.
Translate business requirements from product owners and analytics teams into technical solutions.
Apply AI code generation tools to accelerate development and improve code quality.
What we're looking for
Master’s degree in Computer Science or a related engineering discipline.
6-10 years of technology experience with a focus on Data Engineering.
5+ years of hands-on experience building data pipelines on cloud platforms.
Strong hands-on experience in Python, Spark, SQL, Databricks, and Snowflake to design, debug, and optimize distributed data processing.
Experience building Lakehouse platforms using Snowflake and Databricks on AWS (Azure acceptable) for high concurrency analytical workloads.
Proficiency in data engineering, automation, and managing CI/CD pipelines using tools like Jenkins, Artifactory, and GitHub.
Experience with containerized applications using Docker and familiarity with AI-assisted development tools like GitHub Copilot.
Previous experience in data/platform development within a financial institution (preferred); Databricks platform administrator certification (preferred).
