TL;DR · Data Center Custom Solutions Principal Mechanical Engineer

Data Center Custom Solutions-Principal Mechnical Engineer joins the Mechanical Engineering team to lead the development of innovative, compliant mechanical design solutions. This role involves owning complex designs, conducting detailed analyses, and preparing test plans to validate function, reliability, and compliance for products and subassemblies. You will partner with cross-functional teams to develop customer-specific data center infrastructure, high-density rack solutions, and AI platform configurations. Key responsibilities include designing and validating mechanical and thermal systems for air- and liquid-cooled platforms while driving production implementation for manufacturability and scalability. The role requires expertise in 3D CAD software like Creo or SolidWorks, experience with sheet metal, plastics, and die-cast components, and a firm understanding of FEA and engineering analysis tools. You will solve technical challenges related to rack-scale infrastructure and liquid cooling technologies within the data center domain.

What you'll do

  • Develop customer-specific data center infrastructure, high-density rack solutions, and AI platform configurations.
  • Design, integrate, and validate mechanical and thermal systems for air- and liquid-cooled platforms.
  • Conduct detailed engineering analyses and prepare test plans to validate product function, reliability, and compliance.
  • Drive the production implementation of mechanical and thermal changes to ensure manufacturability and scalability.
  • Evaluate new technologies to optimize performance and manufacturing for AI factory and rack-scale infrastructure.
  • Resolve build issues and coordinate with manufacturing and supply chain partners to meet delivery schedules.

What we're looking for

  • 8+ years of experience in electro-mechanical product development, mechanical design, or thermal engineering.
  • Experience with air and liquid cooling technologies, specifically liquid cooling and rack-level components for data centers.
  • Proficiency with 3D CAD software such as Creo or SolidWorks for sheet metal, plastics, and die-cast component design.
  • Firm understanding of FEA and engineering analysis tools.
  • Ability to interpret technical specifications, data sheets, and engineering documentation.
  • A secondary degree in Mechanical or Thermal Engineering (preferred).
