Data Analyst, Payments

What you'll do

• Translate complex network specifications into implementation instructions for new and revised billing models.
• Analyze billions of dollars in transaction data to manage and understand Stripe's network costs.
• Influence product strategy and prioritize investments to minimize network costs for the company and its users.
• Monitor and maintain fee accuracy through proactive validation and alerting systems.
• Create fee explainability materials and host education sessions for internal and external stakeholders.
• Identify and automate inefficient operational processes to reduce manual workloads and improve scalability.
• Develop documentation and training programs to streamline network cost operations.

What we're looking for

• Have 4+ years of experience in Payments at a leading technology or payments company.
• Ability to write SQL to query relational databases.
• Experience managing communications and workflows with technical and non-technical teams across internal and external stakeholders.
• Experience navigating the nuanced complexity of financial systems and solving large-scale, technical challenges.
• Strong financial modeling and diagnostic skills to investigate, prioritize, and identify the root cause of issues.
• Experience managing multiple, concurrent work streams, triaging technical issues, and driving solutions with clear metrics.
• Experience working in fast-paced environments such as high-growth fintech or management consulting (preferred).
• Experience mentoring junior team members in technical skill development, operational strategy, and problem solving (preferred).
