JOB TITLE: Data Analyst, Lead The Data Analyst, Lead joins the joint and partner forces market team to support USCENTCOM’s data lake environment. This role focuses on supporting machine learning and artificial intelligence development campaigns to improve intelligence for warfighters. You will research, develop, and test data methodologies while generating cross-functional solutions through the collection, interpretation, and analysis of large datasets. Daily responsibilities include establishing quantitative and qualitative metrics, developing data pipelines, and presenting findings to stakeholders. You will utilize scripting languages such as SQL, Python, or R, alongside Microsoft Office Suite and visualization packages like Plotly, Seaborn, or ggplot2. The role requires expertise in distributed computing tools like Hadoop, Hive, and Spark to solve complex problems regarding worldwide military operations and risk reduction.

What you'll do

  • Research, develop, and test data methodologies to generate cross-functional solutions from large datasets.
  • Develop data pipelines and integrate tools to enable self-service frameworks for data consumers.
  • Use SQL, Python, or R to present data findings and recommendations to clients and stakeholders.
  • Establish quantitative and qualitative metrics and key performance indicators to drive technical outcomes.
  • Apply data visualization techniques using graphs, tables, and PowerPoint slides to communicate trends.
  • Identify new data sources and methods to improve collection, analysis, and reporting processes.
  • Translate complex technical requirements and data trends into simplified information for diverse audiences.

What we're looking for

  • Bachelor’s degree in a CS field.
  • Active TS/SCI clearance and willingness to take a polygraph exam.
  • 4+ years of experience designing algorithms and data manipulation capabilities using R, Python, or SQL.
  • Knowledge of identifying new data sources and methods to improve collection, analysis, and reporting.
  • Ability to develop data pipelines and integrate tools to enable self-service frameworks for data consumers.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with intelligence and data analysis teams to produce qualitative and quantitative data.
  • Experience with distributed data or computing tools including MapReduce, Hadoop, Hive, EMR, Kafka, Spark, Gurobi, or MySQL (preferred).
  • Experience with visualization packages including Plotly, Seaborn, or ggplot2 (preferred).
