Data & AI Engineering Intern

What you'll do

• Build and evaluate LLM or agent workflows using prompts, RAG, APIs, and tool calling.
• Develop Python and SQL components for data ingestion, transformation, validation, and testing.
• Implement safety safeguards and guardrails for AI outputs and systematically evaluate agent performance.
• Define outcomes for a scoped agentic data-engineering use case and deliver a functional prototype.
• Document design decisions and explain the business value of AI-driven workflows to stakeholders.
• Participate in pair programming, architecture reviews, and team meetings.

What we're looking for

• Currently pursuing a graduate degree in Computer Science, Data Engineering, Data Science, or a related technical field.
• Must be available for a full-time paid internship in the Summer of 2027.
• Must be legally authorized to work in the United States on a full-time basis.
• Provide hands-on exposure to LLMs through coursework or projects with the ability to explain use cases and results.
• Possess basic knowledge of RAG, embeddings, tool/function calling, structured outputs, workflow orchestration, guardrails, or human-in-the-loop systems.
• Demonstrate familiarity with Python, SQL, relational databases, APIs, data transformation, and basic pipeline or ETL/ELT concepts.
• Show evidence of self-directed learning, smart problem-solving skills, curiosity, and clear communication.
• Prior exposure to cloud data environments (e.g., Snowflake, AWS, Azure, GCP), Git, or Machine Learning (ML) is a bonus (preferred).
