The Cyber Systems Engineer - Level 2 or 3 (AHT) joins the Northrop Grumman Space Systems team to serve as a Cyber Security engineer providing high-level technical expertise. The role involves designing, planning, and implementing security controls, policies, and processes in compliance with NIST SP 800-53, CNSSI 1253, and DoD RMF Knowledge Service guidance. Responsibilities include performing advanced technical analyses of cyber infrastructure challenges, developing solutions for customer needs, and participating in team reviews of technical requirements and implementation plans. The candidate will work with tools such as Rapid 7, Trellix, and Splunk while ensuring compliance with DoD 8500-series and 8510.01 IA policy directives. This position focuses on establishing security baselines and managing system security architectures to solve complex cyber infrastructure problems within a high-security defense environment requiring specialized technical knowledge.
Design, plan, and implement security controls and policies compliant with NIST 800-53 and CNSSI 1253 standards.
Perform assessments of security processes and systems in accordance with DoD RMF guidance.
Assist with the implementation of complex system security architectures.
Provide advanced technical analysis to resolve cyber infrastructure challenges and develop solutions for customer needs.
Participate in team reviews of technical requirements, design plans, and implementation strategies before deployment.
Serve as a Cyber Security Engineer (ISSE) providing high-level technical expertise.
Develop and implement security baselines while communicating their significance to stakeholders.
Configure and implement industry standard technologies including Rapid 7, Trellix, and Splunk.
What we're looking for
Must possess an active Top Secret/SCI clearance with an adjudicated Full Scope Polygraph.
U.S. Citizenship is required for this position.
A Bachelor's degree with 2 years of experience, a Master's with 0 years, or 4 additional years of experience in lieu of a degree are required for Level 2.
A Bachelor's degree with 5 years of experience, a Master's with 3 years, or a PhD with 1 year of experience is required for Level 3.
Must hold a currently valid Security+ CE, CASP, CISSP, or similar security certification.
Experience in requirements development, system integration, testing, and validation/verification is required.
Experience configuring and implementing Rapid 7, Trellix, and Splunk technologies is required.
Knowledge of NIST SP 800-53, CNSSI 1253, and DoD RMF guidance is preferred.
