Cyber Security Engineer

What you'll do

• Integrate security requirements into IT systems and infrastructure.
• Conduct regular vulnerability assessments to identify system weaknesses.
• Maintain and troubleshoot secure Windows and Linux baselines.
• Implement system hardening and ensure compliance with established standards.
• Integrate static and dynamic code analysis tools into the development lifecycle.
• Research and evaluate new cybersecurity tools and methodologies.
• Define and enforce secure-by-default software engineering practices.
• Document and automate security best practices for the organization.

What we're looking for

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Cybersecurity, Engineering, or a related field (or equivalent experience/certifications).
• 1 to 3+ years of relevant IT, DevOps, or Security Engineering experience.
• Active DoD Approved 8570/8140 Baseline Certification or ability to obtain within 6 months.
• Beginner to intermediate Windows, Linux, and Networking skills.
• Experience in hardening modern operating systems and implementing security engineering best practices.
• Proficiency in programming or scripting languages such as Python, Bash, PowerShell, C++, C#, or Java (preferred).
• Strong understanding of network architecture and core infrastructure services like AD, DNS, DHCP, and File Server administration (preferred).
• Experience with Vulnerability Management tools, DISA STIGs/CIS Benchmarks, and various cybersecurity frameworks such as NIST or ISO (preferred).
