As a CPU Performance Engineer, Platform Architecture, you will join the CPU Architecture and Performance Team to drive advanced exploration for next-generation iPhone, iPad, and Mac CPU architectures. You will focus on micro-architecture by investigating branch prediction, code and data prefetchers, novel prediction schemes, and CPU pipelines. Your daily responsibilities include collecting measurements to validate ideas, collaborating with designers in micro-architecture and RTL to assess feasibility through modeling, and analyzing single-threaded and multi-threaded workloads to identify bottlenecks across product categories. You will also help maintain the simulation environment to enable data-driven decisions. The role requires proficiency in C, C++, Perl, or Python, along with experience in performance and power simulation environments. Technical expertise includes knowledge of SIMD and vector architectures, OS internals, compiler technologies, and common data structures and algorithms.
